Down 33 Pounds

Four months ago, on March 10th, I decided to take control of my body and lose weight. I still haven't gotten into an exercise regime, but based solely on eating healthier, I've lost 33 lbs, and dropped 4 BMI points.

I don't allow myself to let any food develop into a craving and if I want a piece of cake or cookie, I eat it. However, I seem to have trained my brain to look at food and automatically convert it into fat, sugar and calories. My Easter bunny is still sitting there on an extra chair at the table. I see it every day but so far, have to wish to eat it.

I'm using the 'Lose It' application on my iTouch and it's helping me keep an eye on what I eat. Because of this, I'm choosing healthier stuff.

Here's a photo of what my normal lunch looks like. For a dip, I usually have a small bowl of The Source yogurt on the side. I also try to drink 6-8 glasses of water a day.

  2. Thanks, Karyn. My goal was to lose 40 pounds in the 4 months, but I'm satisfied with the 33. Of course, if I'd put the effort into exercising, I'd have made it for sure. :D

  3. As a veggie lover, I'm drooling over the photo.

  5. Hey Patti, it looks good, eh. Hubby's been drooling, too, because he wants a plate - albeit smaller - whenever I go to make mine. :D

You're right about my body being a temple. I quit the smoking and alcohol years and years ago. And never did try the drugs. But, the weight was an abuse, too. Thank goodness I came to my senses.

    Thanks for the encouragement.

Is that a slogan where you live? If not, it outta be. LOL

Thanks. I appreciate you dropping in.

  7. Good for you, Anita! I love the LOSE IT app. It helps me keep myself in line. (I have a tendency to eat all sweet and nothing else and my middle aged body doesn't deal with that as well as my young one did!)

  8. You're the 2nd person in 2 days to tell me they use Lose It, too. That's great! The word is getting out. :)

And you don't look middle-aged. You didn't look it when I met you last Sept, either. Sheesh. :O
