Christmas Song Spotlight: Po Folks Christmas

Today's Christmas Song Spotlight is Whispering Bill Anderson singing Po Folks Christmas. Yes, this is an old song from the 60's and is the Christmas version of his hit song. I like this song because it reminds me that even when I feel poor and down, there's someone worse off than me.

I was a little girl when I first heard this on the radio so please forgive me as I reminisce.

  1. been enjoying all your christmas song spotlights. i haven't commented much because little Guppy's usually been reaching for the keyboard of my laptop. i'm taking a peek from work today. it actually snowed here in Virginia Beach yesterday. Probably 3, maybe four inches. School was cancelled just on the threat of snow. This area just doesn't have the prep for it. For me, it felt like Colorado winter - except the snow here is much more wet and icy. Colorado snow is more fluffy.

i'm hoping to send you a homemade eCard, Guppy permitting. I guess I give him a bit more attention than I ought because I'm away at work for so long. He's been clingy of late because a fourth tooth is coming in. Each tooth = clingy boy seeking mamma's comfort *heh*

thanks for blessing everyone with all the christmas song spotlights. they are awesome.

  2. Hey Deb, boy do I remember having a toddler around! There was a time I'd thought dreamily of them sitting there smiling at the Christmas tree lights when the reality is they need to touch everything instead of just look. Apparently when I was four, I tried eating the glass balls instead of just looking at them. I guess I always was a 'touchy' kid. Haha.

I'm sure glad my kids have grown. But oh, they're precious at that age.

Thanks for dropping in. Enjoy your Christmas with you beautiful family. :)

    Anita Mae.

Come on, tell me what you think...
